Debi Alves

Deborah Dobson Alves aka: Debi is a licensed clinical social worker with a BA in Psychology from College of Staten Island and a Masters degree in Social Work from Columbia University.  She has been providing counseling services to children and their families at Staten Island Mental Health Society since 1997, and was previously employed at Mount Sinai Hospital where she helped pilot a pediatric program for pre-school children in eight public schools in East Harlem. Debi became actively involved with CWA in 2014 during her first trip to Kenya with her husband, Derek and daughter, Giavanni who was instrumental in organizing a fundraiser at her high school (Poly Prep Country Day School) to purchase computers for the Kamobo Secondary School. Debi became a CWA board member in 2017.
