Kevin Thompson was born in Harlem but graduated from Curtis High School on Staten Island, New York. In 2008 Kevin became one of the founding members of Cross World Africa. This interest stemmed from obtaining his B.A. in urban/international planning while studying at Syracuse University in the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs & public policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. While studying for his Masters in City & Regional Planning at Cornell University, Kevin completed his 1983 thesis on squatter settlements in Kenya/Tanzania. Kevin has turned his desire to help youth and families throughout his 20+ years of service in Ithaca, NY. As an Assistant Coach with the Cornell University Men’s Track & Field, Kevin supported the team in winning 15 Ivy League Championships. Kevin is now retired and lives in New Orleans, LA. Kevin has been married to Michelle Thompson since 1984 and adores his two daughters, Rei and Mya Thompson.
